ACCELERACING

F1 in schools is the biggest international competition for students globally, with more than 34 countries participating on it. There are approximately 2,000 Greek- and 2 million competitors worldwide, all between 9 and 19 years old. It operates under the protection of FIA, Ferrari, Williams, Pirelli, McLaren etc, and its purpose is not only to pinpoint talented youngsters in the F1 designing aspect, but also to teach organization, marketing, CAD design and manufacture to the participants, allowing them to learn about progressive technological methods to bring their ideas to life.

A F1 car is designed under aero dynamical research and is manufactured out of CNC- cut balsa wood and 3D Printed Material, while also covering their economic needs with marketing actions and sponsorships. The models race in a 25 meter pitch and reach speeds between 70-90 km/h: trial times are close to 1 second. Teams are also judged with consideration of their portfolio, pit display and model manufacture.
